About Genesis AI
Genesis AI is a robotics company headquartered in Paris, with a second office in Silicon Valley, that builds general-purpose robots together with the AI models that control them. TechCrunch reported that it was founded by Zhou Xian, a robotics PhD from Carnegie Mellon University who serves as chief executive, and Théophile Gervet, a former research scientist at Mistral AI who is president. Company profiles give 2024 as the founding year, while Reuters described the company as founded in early 2025. Genesis AI came out of stealth in July 2025 with a USD 105 million seed round co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures. Bpifrance, HSG, Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel also took part. Bloomberg reported in July 2026 that the company was in talks to raise about USD 500 million at a valuation of roughly USD 3 billion, with Premji Invest in discussions to lead and HSG and Northzone weighing further investment; the company had not confirmed the raise. On the software side, Genesis AI released GENE-26.5 on 7 May 2026, described as its first robotic foundation model system and the first public release in the GENE family. It is designed as a shared control system for different machines and was trained partly on synthetic data generated in a physics engine. The release came with a dexterous robotic hand. The company also builds its own training gloves, simulator and hardware. Its first robot, Eno, has a wheeled base, two arms, and no legs or head. A foldable tower of articulated panels adjusts the robot's height and reach, and its proprietary hands are designed to match human hands so that it can use tools, handles and buttons made for people. The company argues that most industrial customers work on flat floors, where wheels are faster, more stable and more energy efficient than legs. Eno runs on GENE, which the company says lets the robot understand a high-level goal, retain memory, adapt as conditions change and plan multi-step tasks over long periods. Demonstrations have included laboratory pipetting, grasping several objects and solving a Rubik's Cube. On 16 June 2026 Genesis AI announced a multi-phase partnership with LG CNS. The first phase is an evaluation across LG CNS enterprise customers, including LG affiliates, to select use cases, followed by a pilot to build a joint deployment playbook. Work starts in the United States, focused on manufacturing and logistics, with global expansion planned later. The company has built dozens of units and plans to scale production in the second half of 2026. It is targeting deployments before the end of the year, beginning in manufacturing, logistics and laboratories, followed by hospitality and healthcare and eventually homes.
