About FlyNow Aviation GmbH

FlyNow Aviation GmbH is a developer of electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. It was founded in Salzburg, Austria, in 2019 and moved its global headquarters to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in July 2026. The Austrian company register describes its business as the development, production and operation of crewed and autonomously flying aircraft.

Jürgen Greil has been managing director since 2019 according to the register, and a December 2024 article calls him chief executive and co-founder. The article describes him as an aerospace engineer and pilot who previously worked at Porsche and BMW. Yvonne Winter was named co-founder and chief operating officer in the company's June 2025 release and is chief executive of FlyNow Arabia Ltd. Markus Kampitsch was identified as chief technology officer and co-founder in a 2021 interview.

The company's product is the eCopter, a fully electric aircraft with coaxial dual rotors that flies automatically on predefined routes without a pilot. It is planned in single-seat, two-seat and cargo versions. TechScoop reports a range of up to 50 km, a top speed of 130 km/h, a capacity of two passengers or 200 kg of cargo and noise of about 55 decibels. Intended uses include firefighting, medical evacuation and urgent deliveries.

Tethered test flights began at Salzburg Airport in July 2023. In June 2025 the company completed its first untethered flights at a new test site in eastern Austria, which it described as a step towards SAIL IV classification, the level that would allow commercial cargo transport. Its website reports more than 400 full-scale test flights and lists it as a founding member of the SALAAM.earth air mobility ecosystem, which announced a Riyadh test site in February 2026.

The register lists Jens Steingräber, Markus Kampitsch and FlyNow Arabia Ltd as shareholders, the last entered on 23 May 2026. ePlane AI reported in July 2026 that FlyNow Arabia had acquired a majority stake, without a percentage or price. No funding round for the Austrian company itself was verified. Riyadh is now its hub for engineering, manufacturing, testing and commercialisation, and TechScoop notes that eVTOL timelines have often slipped.
