About FII Institute
FII Institute, formally the Future Investment Initiative Institute, describes itself as a global non-profit foundation with an investment arm and one agenda, Impact on Humanity. It is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to Wikipedia, and is best known for organising the Future Investment Initiative, an annual investment conference, and the travelling FII Priority summits.
Wikipedia states that the Future Investment Initiative was announced in September 2017 by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with its first conference held in Riyadh in October 2017. TechScoop describes the institute as founded in Riyadh in 2017 and backed by the fund. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund, chairs the board of trustees. On 10 June 2026 the board appointed Princess Dr Maha bint Mishari bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, previously Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University, as chief executive officer. Richard Attias, chairman of the executive committee, had been named as acting chief executive in coverage from January to March 2026.
The ninth flagship conference, FII9, ran in Riyadh from 27 to 30 October 2025. TradeArabia reported more than 9,000 delegates, more than 650 speakers and over USD 50 billion in signed agreements and investment pledges across artificial intelligence, advanced technology, renewable energy and infrastructure. The institute says its network has helped facilitate and spotlight more than USD 250 billion in investments and initiatives, and that it runs year round with more than 45 strategic partners and thousands of members.
Outside Riyadh, the institute runs FII Priority summits. The fourth edition in Miami took place on 25 to 27 March 2026 under the theme Capital in Motion and followed a summit in Tokyo. FII Priority Europe was held in Rome from 17 to 19 June 2026 under the theme Europe Reimagined, and TechScoop reported more than 1,600 investors, policymakers and innovators attending.
On 19 October 2026 the institute said it was postponing FII10, the tenth edition planned for Riyadh from 26 to 29 October under the theme The Power of Legacy, to 2027. No new dates were set, and it said existing registrations and partnerships remain valid.
