About Eddy Travels

Eddy Travels developed an AI-powered travel assistant that helped people search for flights, accommodation, car rentals and activities through conversational interfaces. Its digital assistant used natural language processing to turn a traveller’s questions into personalised suggestions, connecting users with offers from established travel platforms. The service was available through messaging applications as well as business integrations.

The company’s approach reduced the need to search separately across different travel websites. A traveller could describe a request conversationally and receive relevant options from suppliers such as Skyscanner, Booking.com and GetYourGuide. Eddy Travels also developed chatbot services for other businesses, making the assistant available as a tool that travel companies could incorporate into their own customer experience.

In September 2022, ancillary travel marketplace TripAdd acquired Eddy Travels through a share merger. The combination brought its conversational technology into a business focused on distributing additional travel products and personalised recommendations. Eddy Travels’ original website now leads to TripAdd. The company was founded by Edmundas Balčikonis, Pranas Kiziela and Adomas Baltagalvis and participated in Intelak’s travel technology programme. The acquisition connected its conversational search capabilities with TripAdd’s wider distribution of ancillary travel products.
