About Doctorbook
Doctorbook is a Syrian health technology startup based in Damascus. Its online platform lets patients search for doctors and medical centres, book appointments and communicate with providers. For clinics and doctors it offers tools to manage bookings, patient flow and medical records in one system. Waya Media and MENA Startup Digest say an AI feature explains uploaded laboratory results, radiology images and medical reports in simpler terms and points patients to a suitable specialist.
Waya Media, MENA Startup Digest and Jawlah say Doctorbook was founded in early 2024 by Dr. Hossam Al-Qabbani and Eng. Mohammed Al-Aqqad; none of them gives the founders' job titles. Wamda instead names Abdulrahman Aljandali and Abdulrahman Alkhateeb as the founders and gives 2026 as the founding year. The sources read do not settle the difference, and no company website or registry entry was found.
In July 2026 the coverage said more than 200 doctors and medical centres had joined the platform. It serves Damascus, its surrounding countryside and Aleppo, and had recently begun processing patient bookings. No patient numbers have been published.
Doctorbook raised a 16,000 dollar pre-seed round from a group of angel investors, reported by Wamda, Jawlah and Waya Media between 27 and 28 July 2026. No lead investor was named. MENA Startup Digest, Waya Media and Jawlah put the valuation at 200,000 dollars. The coverage says the money will go to developing the technology, marketing and expanding in the Syrian market. TechScoop noted that a round of this size offers limited runway and that it is unclear whether follow-on funding will follow.
