About Convey
Convey is a San Francisco enterprise AI company that sells a platform for building and running what it calls digital teammates. Rather than a chatbot or copilot that helps one person work faster, a Convey teammate takes ownership of a complete operational task, such as processing invoices, reconciling financial data, managing campaign reporting or ingesting advertising assets at scale. Operators build them without writing code, often by demonstrating the work, and the company says an end-to-end teammate can be onboarded in around three hours, with organizations seeing meaningful impact within one to two months. The company was founded by chief executive Rohan Chopra with Will Harvey and Diego Canales, who were friends from Stanford and had earlier sold a company to project44. Chopra spent about eight years at DoorDash, joining as an early engineer. Most sources give 2025 as the founding year, while some profiles say 2024. In June 2026 Convey announced a USD 38 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with continued backing from existing investors Khosla Ventures and Pear VC. a16z partner Joe Schmidt joins Convey's board. The investor thesis is that enterprise AI suffers from adoption without impact, with usage rising while returns fail to show up. Khosla's Samir Kaul compared the current AI race with food delivery a decade ago and pointed to Chopra's track record. Convey says its digital teammates have completed more than a million hours of background work for customers including NBCUniversal, Samsara, TelevisaUnivision, Unity, Faire and ChargePoint. Reported results include the chauffeur service Savoya citing a 40 percent year-on-year jump in EBITDA and a target of reclaiming 10,000 hours in 2026, while Faire automated hundreds of hours of invoice processing. Adoption at ChargePoint reportedly spread across departments. Convey positions itself as a partner to IT teams: each digital teammate has its own identity and permissions so automation runs inside existing security frameworks, and the company says it holds SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance. Chopra has said the company uses the word teammate rather than agent because a teammate is responsible for an outcome, not just a specific task. The funding is intended for product development and expansion into more enterprise markets.
