About Bosta
Bosta is a Cairo-based logistics company that delivers parcels for e-commerce businesses. Techpoint Africa described its early service as next-day delivery with returns, exchanges and cash collection, and TechScoop now lists delivery, warehousing and fulfilment, order management and payments tools for merchants. Wamda reported in January 2024 that it operates in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and Techpoint Africa reported that it had opened an office in Riyadh.
Mohamed Ezzat and Ahmed Gaber founded Bosta in 2017. Ezzat is chief executive and spoke in October 2026 at a conference in Alexandria, where he argued that listing startups on the Egyptian Exchange could give investors exits. Techpoint Africa reported that Ken Allen, a former chief executive of DHL Express, joined the board and became an investor in February 2023.
When it announced its Series A in May 2021, Bosta said it served more than 2,200 businesses and had delivered more than 4 million parcels. By January 2024 it said it had delivered over 20 million shipments for more than 25,000 businesses. In October 2026 TechScoop reported founder-supplied, unaudited figures for 2025 of about 37 million shipments, EGP 27 billion in gross merchandise value, 17 million customers and 20,000 businesses, with 95 percent of shipments delivered within the agreed service level. Bosta says it won four titles at the International Business Magazine Awards 2026.
Bosta raised a USD 6.7 million Series A in May 2021, led by Silicon Badia with 4DX Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures, Wealthwell and Khwarizmi; Techpoint Africa gave the amount as USD 6.4 million. Techpoint Africa reported a 2022 pre-Series B round of undisclosed size involving Khwarizmi Ventures and Hassan Allam Holding. In January 2024 Axian Group invested an undisclosed amount, and Wamda reported an additional investment led by Avanz Capital Egypt through Avanz Manara.
In May 2026 Beltone Venture Capital and Citadel International Holdings announced that their joint fund had exited its Bosta investment at a reported 75 percent internal rate of return; the buyer, stake and date were not disclosed. TechScoop reported in October 2026 that Bosta was preparing its network for Black Friday.
