About Blue
Blue is a voice and edge AI startup that is developing what it describes as the first functional "Action Model" for mobile devices. Instead of relying on app integrations or APIs, its software operates a phone's interface directly, simulating taps and typing to carry out multi-step tasks such as replying to messages or making payments, entirely by voice. The company positions the product as a hands-free way to use any application on a phone. The company is listed by Y Combinator as part of its Summer 2025 batch. According to Y Combinator's launch page and database listings, the product combines a mobile app with a small USB-C plug-in device that lets the assistant control the phone. One outlet describes this patent-pending hardware, called "The Bud", as the company's main technical advantage. Preqin reports a one-year subscription for the assistant priced at USD 299 and says an initial run of 500 units sold out quickly; these figures come from a data provider rather than from Blue itself. Sources differ on platform support, with some describing the product as iPhone-focused and Y Combinator describing support for both iOS and Android. Blue was co-founded by Omar Abdelaziz, who serves as chief executive, together with Peter Krogh and Farhan Hossain. One company directory lists the firm as founded in 2024, while its Y Combinator batch dates to 2025. On funding, Blue raised approximately USD 5.5 million in a pre-seed round. PitchBook dates the deal to 24 February 2026 and also records an earlier seed round in August 2025 and a USD 500,000 accelerator investment. The Presight–Shorooq AI Fund participated in the round. The fund is a USD 100 million vehicle launched in September 2025 as a partnership between Abu Dhabi-based Presight, a G42 company, and Shorooq Partners. Blue was one of five companies in its first quarter of deployments, alongside NodeShift, Candid, Hebbia and Crunched, as reported by Wamda, Zawya and Entrepreneur Middle East. A separate WAM report describes Presight itself as the investor. The round's lead investor and exact closing date have not been disclosed. The Presight–Shorooq announcement places Blue in San Francisco, while PitchBook and Y Combinator list Santa Clara, California.
