About Benteler
BENTELER is a family-owned industrial group that develops and produces safety-relevant products and systems for automotive technology, the energy sector and mechanical engineering. Its company structure page lists four divisions: BENTELER Automotive Components, BENTELER Automotive Modules, BENTELER Steel/Tube, and HOLON, a subsidiary focused on autonomous passenger vehicles. An April 2026 press release also names Mechanical Engineering and Glass Processing Equipment among its business areas. The group reports more than 20,000 employees at around 90 locations.
The company says it has operated since 1876, when it began as a hardware store in Bielefeld, and 2026 marks its 150th year. Strategic management is held by BENTELER International Austria GmbH in Salzburg, with additional holding functions in BENTELER Business Services GmbH in Paderborn, Germany. Wikipedia describes the holding as owned by the Benteler family.
Ralf Göttel is chief executive and, since 13 April 2026, Thomas Glynn is chief financial officer and a member of the Executive Board, succeeding Dr. Tobias Braun, who left by mutual agreement. Hubertus Benteler chairs the Supervisory Board.
The company structure page says Automotive Components has about 18,000 employees in 19 countries and Automotive Modules about 2,000 in eight countries. In its 2025 results release the group reported the start of construction of a new component plant in Morocco, the opening of a new module plant in China with BHAP, and added capacity of about 20,000 tons a year at its Lingen electric steel plant. HOLON received approval for Level 4 autonomy, with pilot deployments including ALIKE in Hamburg. In October 2026 the group introduced a highly integrated crash management system.
For 2025 BENTELER reported revenue of EUR 8,046 million, compared with EUR 8,170 million in 2024, and adjusted EBITDA of EUR 641 million, up from EUR 594 million. It secured a EUR 600 million bond and a new EUR 1.4 billion credit facility earlier than planned.
In February 2025 Ceer named Benteler among the tier 1 global suppliers localizing operations at the King Salman Automotive Cluster in Saudi Arabia, and TechScoop's September 2026 report on Ceer lists Benteler among its partners.
