About Ash Games

Ash Games, which trades as Ash Games Studio, is a video game studio based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It makes action-adventure games for PC and console that draw on Saudi history, folklore and everyday life and are aimed at a global audience. The studio describes itself as remote-first, with 18 people working across design, engineering, art and production.

Ash Games was founded in 2022. The studio's website credits Yaser Alahmadi as founder, while Wamda names Anas Bakhsh, Yaser Alahmadi and Saud Bakolka as founders. Bakhsh is chief executive, Alahmadi is chief creative officer and Bakolka is chief technology officer.

The studio's first shipped title listed on its investors page is PuckBash, a PC game on Steam. Azooma Escape, a comedic stealth game inspired by everyday Saudi life and built in Unity, was released on Steam on 20 August 2025. The studio says it passed 20,000 Steam wishlists in July 2025 and reached the global front page of Steam. PocketGamer.biz reported in July 2026 that the studio is considering a mobile version. Its next title, Nomad: The Legend of Zarqa, is a top-down action roguelite based on the legend of Zarqa al-Yamama, a seer whose arrows players can steer in flight. It is planned for 2027 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and a demo went live on Steam on 17 September 2026 after eight playtests with more than 900 players, according to the studio.

In May 2025 the studio took third place at The Very Big Indie Pitch at Dubai Games Expo. In December 2025 it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean company Plithus for structured playtesting of Nomad. Its investors page lists NEOM as a strategic partner.

PocketGamer.biz reported on 24 July 2026 that Ash Games had raised a USD 1.5 million seed round, co-led by Merak Capital through the Merak Gaming Fund and by Impact46. Wamda said the money is intended to expand development capabilities and the team and to strengthen international publishing and commercialisation. The studio has not disclosed revenue or sales figures.
