About Al Majed for Oud
Al Majed for Oud is a Saudi perfume and oud company based in Riyadh. It makes and sells oud, perfumes, incense, essential oils, accessories and gifts. Its investor site gives 638 fragrances across 157 brands and 366 stores in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and the company also sells online, including through Amazon and Golden Scent. Its shares trade on the Saudi Exchange under the code 4165.
Ali bin Othman Al Majed began the business in 1956 as a wholesaler of oud and saffron. It became a sole proprietorship, Al Majed for Oud Establishment, in 1982 and opened its first Riyadh store. It added perfumes, incense and essential oils in 1990, ended wholesale in 2007, became a limited liability company in 2010 and a closed joint-stock company in 2023. Majed Ali Al Majed has been non-executive chairman since March 2023 and Waleed Khaled Al Majed chief executive since January 2022.
Its Riyadh factory's capacity rose from 5,000 units a day in 2012 to 50,000 in 2019, and the prospectus says it holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. After a first store in Kuwait in 2018, it opened in the United Arab Emirates in 2021, Bahrain in 2022 and Oman in 2023, and a 2025 results presentation dates its entry into Qatar to 2024. In 2022, when it opened its 200th store, it also bought the assets of Khalta Perfumes Company, adding 41 stores.
The company offered 7.5 million shares, 30 percent of its capital, on the Main Market at SAR 94 each in September 2024; Argaam reported demand of about 156 times. The prospectus reported 2023 revenue of SAR 767.0 million and net profit of SAR 148.7 million. Its 2025 results presentation, dated 17 February 2026, reported revenue of SAR 1,104 million, up 19 percent, and net profit of SAR 218 million, up 39 percent.
In June 2026 TechScoop reported that the company had reached a preliminary, non-binding agreement valuing Al Safa Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies at SAR 392 million, subject to net debt adjustments and due diligence. A September 2026 investor presentation lists the deal as pending final agreements and approvals.
