Adobe is a US software company that makes tools for creative work, documents and customer experience. Its Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud lines include Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, Acrobat, Adobe Express, Firefly and GenStudio. Adobe's corporate headquarters is at 345 Park Avenue in San Jose, California, and its shares trade on Nasdaq under the symbol ADBE.

John Warnock and Charles Geschke founded Adobe in December 1982. The company released PostScript in 1985, introduced Photoshop in 1990 and launched PDF and Acrobat in 1993. It moved to subscriptions with Creative Cloud in 2012, launched Adobe Express in 2021 and released Firefly generative AI models in 2023. Shantanu Narayen has been chief executive since 2007 and chair since 2017.

Adobe says 87 percent of Fortune 100 companies use Adobe Experience Cloud and that it has provided Adobe Express for Education to more than 40 million K-12 students. It also says more than 29 billion images have been generated with Firefly since launch.

Adobe's acquisitions include Macromedia in 2005, Omniture in 2009, Behance in 2012, Magento and Marketo in 2018, Workfront in 2020 and Frame.io in 2021. Its September 2026 release credits incoming chief executive Anil Chakravarthy with the acquisition and integration of Workfront and Semrush. At LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, Adobe expanded a partnership with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and HUMAIN, which TechScoop reported as valued at more than $4 billion, offering more than 27 million eligible residents free access to Firefly and Express features.

For fiscal 2025 Adobe reported revenue of $23.77 billion, up 11 percent, and GAAP net income of $7.13 billion. For the third quarter of fiscal 2026, ended 28 August 2026, it reported revenue of $6.76 billion, up 13 percent, and annualised recurring revenue of $27.50 billion.

On 3 September 2026 the board named Chakravarthy, president of the customer experience orchestration business and worldwide field operations, as president and chief executive from 1 December 2026, with Narayen becoming executive chair. On 10 September Adobe said its products had passed one billion monthly active users.
