Salons, barber shops, spas, gyms and makeup artists use its software to manage appointments and operations, and a consumer marketplace lets clients find those providers and book sessions.
Sources disagree on when Glamera was founded. Wamda and MENAbytes coverage in 2019 and 2020 dated it to 2019 in Cairo, Arab News and Wamda in October 2022 said 2020, and a January 2026 press release said 2022. The founders are Mohamed Hassan, who also appears as Mohamed Hassan Hijazi and is chief executive, and Omar Fathy, described as chief technology officer in 2020 and 2022 coverage. Early reports also named Zafer Alshehri as a co-founder. The company began in Cairo and later relocated to Saudi Arabia, according to Wamda in 2022.
In September 2019 Glamera reported more than 200 partners in Cairo and over 20,000 app downloads. In August 2020 it reported 100,000 users, 600 providers in Egypt and 120 in Riyadh, with services in Riyadh, Jeddah, Cairo, Alexandria and Erbil. By October 2022 it listed Saudi cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Taif, Qassim, Madinah and Tabuk, plus Cairo and Alexandria, and said it had facilitated 45 million US dollars in gross merchandise value.
In January 2026 Glamera Holding signed a memorandum to acquire Bookr Group, a Kuwait-based salon software and booking business with operations in Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and more than 300,000 users. The price was not disclosed and no completion was reported. In the same release Glamera said it had processed transactions above 4 billion Saudi riyals and served more than 4,500 service providers, figures it supplied itself.
Glamera has disclosed three rounds. In September 2019 it raised 250,000 US dollars from an unnamed Saudi angel investor. In August 2020 Dual Gate Investment Holding invested a six-figure sum. In October 2022 it announced a 1.3 million dollar seed round led by Riyadh Angels Investors, with Techstars, Ithraa Venture Capital, 100 Ventures, Lucrative Ventures and angel investors taking part.
