About كابيتال وان شوبينغ
Capital One Shopping is a browser extension and shopping website from Capital One. Its site says it finds better offers for shoppers, automatically applies coupon codes at checkout and alerts users to price drops on products they have viewed or purchased. It also lists cash-back offers from merchants, and its About page says more than 7 million shoppers use the browser extension.
The service earns a commission when users make eligible purchases from merchants and may share part of that commission with users as rewards. Its site features merchants such as Nike, Macy's, Chewy, Walmart, Best Buy and Expedia. The About page says the service is built in Austin, Texas.
According to Wikipedia's article on Capital One, the bank acquired Wikibuy, a shopping comparison app and browser extension, from an Austin start-up in November 2018 and renamed it Capital One Shopping. No price for the deal is given.
In July 2026 the service appeared in coverage of Phia, a shopping app launched by Phoebe Gates. Bloomberg reported on 9 July 2026 that Phia's extension opened a hidden background tab at checkout and planted its own affiliate cookie. Hello Partner and Gizmodo describe Capital One Shopping as a rival extension that tested Phia's app together with Bloomberg and the independent researcher Ben Edelman, and TechScoop reported that it warned retailers that legitimate publishers were having revenue taken. The affiliate network impact.com suspended Phia, and Bloomberg reported that Awin was reviewing the allegations.
