About بوكر

Bookr is a Kuwait-based technology company that runs a booking app and business software for the beauty and wellness sector. The consumer app, available in Arabic and English on Android and iOS, lets users book salons, barbers, spas and freelance make-up artists and hairdressers. A cloud-based tool for service providers manages appointments, inventory and financial data. Its website describes the product as booking and business software for salons, spas and clinics.

Zaina Al Bader founded Bookr in 2018 and serves as co-founder and chief executive. Wamda reports that the company soft-launched in July 2018 in Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and that it opened an online store for beauty products in 2020. Later coverage describes it as active in those three markets and calls its parent entity Bookr Group.

In August 2021 Bookr closed a USD 1 million seed round led by Desert Ventures. At the time it said it had processed more than 300,000 bookings and more than USD 15 million in booking value since 2018. The funds were meant for marketing, customer experience and expansion in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

In February 2024 the company raised a bridge round of undisclosed size, with Plus VC the only investor named. Bookr then reported more than 500 partners, more than 168,000 scheduled appointments worth USD 6.5 million and operations in more than ten Gulf cities during 2023, with brands in Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia integrating its booking into their SMS and point-of-sale systems.

On 27 January 2026 Saudi-based Glamera Holding announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire Bookr Group. Glamera, founded in 2022 by Mohamed Hassan Hijazi and Omar Fathy, said it had processed more than SAR 4 billion in transactions and served more than 4,500 service providers. The terms were not disclosed. The companies said the combined platform would offer booking, digital payments, point-of-sale, salon and clinic management and analytics. Bookr reported more than 300,000 users of its booking app. No completion of the deal had been reported when this profile was researched.
