About بيرد نست
BirdNest is an Egyptian property technology and hospitality company that furnishes, manages and markets properties for short- and long-term rental. Wamda described it in August 2026 as a technology-powered marketplace for curated boutique hotels and holiday homes, with a focus on art, wellness and local experiences. Zawya lists BIRDNEST LLC as an Egypt-based, technology-enabled hospitality platform that manages and markets serviced apartments through its nests service for individual and corporate clients.
Mostafa El-Nahawy is co-founder and chief executive. Wamda's May 2024 article named Ahmed Fadda as his co-founder and co-CEO, though the 2026 coverage names only El-Nahawy. Sources differ on the founding year: Wamda and Daba Finance gave 2020 in 2024, while Wamda's 2026 article and Zawya's company profile give 2019.
In May 2024 Enterprise reported that BirdNest offered furnishing with pre-curated designs and rental management covering check-in, rent payments and door unlocking, and had more than 200 properties across Egypt. In February 2025 Business Monthly Egypt quoted El-Nahawy saying the company managed over 450 rental units in Cairo's Fifth Settlement, rented in US dollars. In June 2026 Invest-Gate reported that BirdNest became exclusive partner for managing and operating Commonhaus, a serviced-apartment concept it co-created with Upwyde Developments inside the Skyramp project in Sheikh Zayed, where it will run 130 units.
In May 2024 BirdNest closed a pre-Series A round in which investors took a 20 percent stake. Beltone Venture Capital led, with CI Venture Capital, the venture arm of Abu Dhabi-based Citadel International Holding, taking part. The amount was not disclosed. The company said the money would go to a regional quality team, proprietary technology and marketing, and that it planned to enter Athens, Dubai and Riyadh.
On 3 August 2026 Beltone announced a partial exit from BirdNest, covering its direct stake and its indirect stake through a joint fund with Citadel International Holdings. It reported a return of 3.5 times invested capital and an 80 percent internal rate of return over two years, and kept a strategic stake. El-Nahawy said US dollar revenue grew more than tenfold over the period and that BirdNest had become profitable.
