About أفانز كابيتال مصر
Avanz Capital Egypt (ACE) is an Egyptian private equity and asset management firm with a mandate centred on small and medium-sized enterprises. It invests directly in Egyptian SMEs and acts as a limited partner in local funds. Haytham Wagih is its chief executive and managing director. The firm's SME vehicle is Avanz Manara, a fund of funds that invests in private equity and venture capital funds dedicated to SMEs and co-invests directly. Enterprise reported in 2023 that Avanz launched Manara in March 2022 with initial capital of EGP 905 million, and that founding shareholders included the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, Misr Insurance Holding Company, Suez Canal Bank and the United Bank. A separate low-carbon vehicle, EgyCop, was planned to invest in projects that issue carbon credits, targeting an initial EGP 1 billion, though at the time of that reporting it was awaiting a regulatory licence. The firm's portfolio spans logistics and fintech names. In June 2023 Avanz Capital Egypt invested about USD 3.5 million in Trella, a logistics startup founded in 2018 by Omar Hagrass, Ali El Atrash, Pierre Saad and Muhammad El Garem that connects shippers with trucks in real time, according to Wamda. Avanz Capital Egypt and the general partner of Avanz Manara also announced an investment in Bosta, a technology-based shipping and logistics provider for e-commerce businesses in Egypt, alongside other institutional private capital firms. In August 2026 Exits MENA, a Cairo-based investment advisory platform, and ACE's local management signed a multi-seven-figure deal to fully acquire the firm. The transaction received initial approval from Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority and still needs final approval. One report said the buyers took over the stake of the US-based Avanz Capital, the foreign partner, and that the purchase was financed from internal resources. The exact value was not disclosed. ACE's management remains in place, with Wagih continuing to lead operations and investment activity and saying the investment process is unchanged. The business is to be rebranded Exits Manara, the private capital and asset management subsidiary of the group. Exits MENA was founded in 2022 by Mohamed Abuelnaga Nagaty, Ayman El Tanbouly and Ahella El Saban, operates as a subsidiary of the holding company PIE, and provides M&A, fundraising, investment-readiness and advisory services to startups and SMEs. The acquisition gives it an arm that can deploy capital as well as advise on it. Exits Manara will continue to manage the existing Manara fund of funds and plans to launch Manara 2, aimed at mid-sized Egyptian exporters seeking international expansion; Al Mal News reported a launch in the first quarter of 2027. Management describes its target as the growth stage between venture capital and private equity, where companies that have outgrown venture funding are still too small for traditional private equity.
