Paribu steps into the Gulf with $240M CoinMENA takeover

Paribu acquires a majority stake in CoinMENA at a $240M valuation, expanding its regulated crypto presence across Bahrain and Dubai in one of Türkiye’s largest fintech deals.

Paribu has acquired a majority stake in regional crypto exchange CoinMENA in a deal valuing the company at US $240 million, marking one of Türkiye’s largest fintech transactions to date.

CoinMENA operates as a fully licensed crypto exchange under both the Central Bank of Bahrain and Dubai’s VARA regulatory framework, giving Paribu immediate access to regulated operations across Bahrain and the UAE. In its official announcement, Paribu stated that the agreement enables it to extend its compliance-first operating model across the MENA region while supporting broader cross-border expansion.

CoinMENA confirmed the deal in its own statement, describing the acquisition as a major milestone for the company. The founders highlighted that the partnership with Paribu provides new resources for scaling engineering capabilities, liquidity infrastructure and product development across new markets. These details were shared through CoinMENA’s announcement and an additional update from its leadership.

The timing aligns with Paribu’s broader strategy. The company recently expanded into brokerage services after securing approval from Türkiye’s market regulator, and earlier rolled out improved custody tools to strengthen institutional adoption. Coverage from FinanceFeeds notes that the CoinMENA acquisition positions Paribu to compete more aggressively in a region where regulatory clarity and market consolidation are increasing.

Across the Gulf, licensed digital-asset exchanges continue to gain traction, with Bahrain and Dubai emerging as leading jurisdictions for regulated crypto activity. CoinMENA’s strong presence in both markets gives Paribu a strategic base as Gulf governments advance comprehensive digital asset policies, a trend mirrored by regional operators such as Rain Financial and international platforms licensed under VARA and CBB.
